This is a common sentiment that couples tend to share in their initial inquiries with me and they make me so happy.  Pleased not only that they have found me, but that they are really striving to make this day and the entire process exactly what they want for it to be vs. trying to fit into some sort of preconceived wedding industry box.

Hanna and David were married on a warm and sunny autumn afternoon on the shoulder of a verdant valley with a picture window view of Mt. Hood.  They were surrounded by a raucous crowed of playful friends and family, who from the very start established that they intended to be very active participants in the day and that they were.

There are moments from every wedding that I photograph that stick with me.  Moments that touch me and remind me that we are all human.  On this day there was well more than one, but at the top was a moment late in the evening where I found Hanna's parents on the dance floor in an embrace.  The looked at one another in silence and yet it was so clear that they were both feeling, 'We did it.  We raised our little girl.  And today she was married.'  And then they softly kissed.
