Truth be told, what separates photographers is much more than the images they show. You are choosing between three principle elements in making your decision around who is your best fit:
1. STYLE OF WORK: A photographer's work is of course the first consideration and it has to resonate as a starting point. However, the choice is around more than just pretty pictures, because honestly, most everyone has those. What a photographer SHOWS consistently, however, reflects the types of moments that they value and what you can expect for your wedding. Lots of perfectly curated shots = lots of statically posed moments that are probably taking place away from the actual celebration. I refer to my style as 'LOOSE DOCUMENTARY,' which means that I favor all of the real moments, but am prepared to step in to guide and assist as often as is needed when others need to be set up.
2. VIBE: This references both their personality as well as what they see their role as during a wedding day and is effectively the recipe for how they get the work that they get. Personally, I will always strive to bring a calming element and to most importantly encourage you to enjoy your day. I am seen when I am needed and I work in the shadows when not. I see my role as observer more than director because most importantly, I want your vibe to be the vibe and for you to enjoy your day. Will I let you look awkward? Never. Will I ask you to do 'silly things' to manufacture a photo op? Nope. Do I step in and help when needed. Always.
3. INVESTMENT: This is simply how they value their work
and there of course has to be alignment between this and your budget.
so what's to CHOOSE?
Let's be honest, there aren't that many days in our lives where we consider commissioning a photographer to document us, so why then for a wedding? That's a great question and one that I encourage every couple to answer for themselves. Having now been to several hundred weddings, I can say with some certainty that a wedding can be one of the more pivotal days in life. It is often the end of a chapter and the beginning of another. There are people who will attend who have loved you since the beginning and who will not be with you forever. Others who have only been with you for a chapter or paragraph, but who love and support you all the same. It represents the blending of families and merging of friend groups and is often a monumental change in the direction of your life. I tend to think of it being less about 'cliche wedding formality', though that can be part of it, and more about the meaning behind the rituals and vows that are shared. Because of all of this and so much more, it is a day worthy of preserving and forming memories of that will stay with you for the rest of your life and thus, worthy of the investment of your intention and resources, no matter how big or small.

I have the ability to shoot a mix of film and digital, as each have their strengths. All shoot packages include an edited collection of color graded, high resolution image files that will be delivered via a custom, password protected, digital image gallery. You will be able to share this with your friends and family, order prints and albums from it or just download the images for your own use, safe keeping or to print elsewhere. If you are looking for something different or more custom, I am happy to discuss building exactly what you are looking for.
I have a variety of coverage collections and options that range from intimate gatherings and courthouse elopements to extended wedding weekends in far-flung destinations, for which costs are largely dependent upon the amount of coverage time requested. While there are options available to work within many budgets, the average investment for an 8-hour-coverage-package (for which I will spend approximately 24 hours of total time including planning, shooting and editing) is in the mid $4000 range.
Given that every event is unique and special in it's needs, it is really helpful for me to have some basic information around yours.
